History
Giants Oaks
Construction founder Ron Bernaldo has been building homes
since 1970. Through 1978, Ron worked as a journeyman
carpenter in Local 2018 in
Lakehurst, New Jersey.
That year, he
made the move to general foreman and construction manager
for a large residential building contractor in
Surf City,
New Jersey.
For the next
eight years, Ron was in charge of bidding, scheduling and
oversight of the construction of 20 to 25 single family
homes and condo units per year.
In addition to
supervising 75-100 tradesman, Ron was in charge of keeping
daily contact with homeowners on the progress of their
project.
In 1986, Ron
left the company to start his own business, building six to
eight home per year until 1992, when he moved the business
to
Charlotte County, Virginia.
Since then,
Giant Oaks Construction has built two to three custom homes
per year while taking on restoration/repair projects on many
vintage homes. The company also does extensive work with
home additions, repair and maintenance. Click on the
